Good to know
Local anaesthetic or sedation. Most procedures are done at our clinic with the area numbed, while you’re awake. Sedation is available at Wyndham Clinic Private Hospital; Dr Rahul will explain whether it suits you and any extra costs. We don’t offer general anaesthetic.
Ages 6 and over. We don’t circumcise babies or children under 6.
Urgent problems. We don’t provide emergency care, frenuloplasty or emergency treatment for a foreskin stuck behind the head of the penis. For anything urgent, call 000 or go to your nearest emergency department.

Dr Rahul Tipnis has worked as a doctor since 1997. After medical school he completed a three-year general surgical residency in Mumbai, then built his career in general practice in Australia. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP).
In the last five years he has performed more than 900 circumcisions, and he has performed more than 250 vasectomies.
Teaching other doctors
Dr Rahul is a presenter for HealthCert Education, where he helps write and teach circumcision training for Australian GPs. Through HealthCert, GPs and surgeons also attend his clinic to observe how he works.

What we do
Circumcision, ages 6 and over. For boys, teenagers and men, whether the reason is medical (like a tight foreskin or repeated infections) or cultural and religious. Usually a plastic ring up to age 12 and a stapler device from 12. Done under local anaesthetic at our clinic, or with sedation at Wyndham Clinic Private Hospital.
No-scalpel vasectomy. A permanent form of contraception for men who are sure they don’t want more children. It’s done through one tiny opening instead of a cut, under local anaesthetic, and you go home the same day. Total fee $550, including 6 months of follow-up.
Telehealth consultations are available, and we accept Afterpay and Zip (their own terms apply).

Important information
Dr Rahul is a GP with surgical training (FRACGP, MS Surgery). He isn’t a plastic surgeon or urologist, and he doesn’t do circumcision for cosmetic reasons.
Like any procedure, circumcision and vasectomy have risks, including bleeding, infection, pain, swelling and scarring, and healing varies from person to person. Dr Rahul will go through these with you before you decide. You may wish to get a second opinion from another qualified health practitioner.
