Dr Rahu Tipnis – Surgical Experience
Dr. Rahul Tipnis commands over 29 years of robust experience in patient care, exemplifying his unwavering dedication and expertise in the medical field.
Qualifications
– Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB BS), University of Mumbai – 1997
– M.S. General Surgery, University of Mumbai – 2001
– Fellowship (FRACGP), Royal Australian College of General Practitioners – 2014
Dr. Tipnis has honed his skills through extensive work in prestigious surgical units across the UK and Australia, including North Devon District Hospital, Barnstaple, Homerton University Hospital (Urology Unit), and Heart Hospital (Cardiac Surgery Unit) in London. His contributions at Royal Perth Hospital, John Hunter Hospital, Royal Darwin Hospital, Alice Springs Hospital, and Kalgoorlie Hospital further solidified his experience.

Dissertation/Thesis:
The University of Mumbai has accepted his dissertation, “Faecal Fistula in Typhoid Perforation,” as part of his post-graduation degree, underscoring his research acumen.
Audit:
Dr. Tipnis led an audit titled ‘Referral to Problem Clinic in DOSH,’ focusing on the reasons for referral, timeframe, and outcomes, demonstrating his analytical prowess.
Publications:
He co-authored a critical paper on the incidence of Gall Bladder Cancer in Central Australian populations, which was featured in the Austral-Asian Journal of Cancer (Vol. 10, No. 2, April 2011) alongside esteemed colleagues.
Conferences/Seminars:
In 2009, Dr. Tipnis was a pivotal member of the Organizing Committee for the 45th Provincial Surgeons of Australia (PSA) Annual Scientific Conference, held in Alice Springs.

Gall Bladder Cancer in the Central Australian Population at the PSA Annual Scientific Congress in July 2009.
Targeted Treatment in Cancer at the Trevor Taylor Price at Royal Darwin Hospital in December 2007.

Early Breast Cancer Management at Alice Springs Hospital in May 2008.

Teaching Experience:
Dr. Tipnis has effectively taught undergraduate students during their General Surgery rotation and serves as a Fellowship examiner and an Applied Knowledge test questionnaire writing examiner for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He is also recognized for educating General Practitioners on the performance of circumcision.
Community Involvement:
Currently, Dr. Tipnis is an active member of the Wyndham Vale Council’s People’s Advisory Panel, where he plays a crucial role in shaping the future of Wyndham (2021-2022).
On a personal note, Dr. Tipnis was born and raised in Mumbai, India. He is not only a skilled medical professional but also proficient in information technology, which he harnesses to continually enhance and modernize his medical practice.
